LA BARTOLOMÉ
D.O.Ca. Rioja
This Garnacha red wine comes from a single vineyard in Bergasillas, situated at an altitude of 831 meters on clay-ferrous soils scattered with rounded pebbles, and characterized by a significant diurnal temperature range. The winemaking philosophy follows a minimal-intervention approach, utilizing natural fermentation. The wine is aged for two years in 500-liter, seasoned French oak barrels. This rigorous process preserves the inherent character of high-altitude grapes, resulting in a wine with a delicate profile—notable for its high natural acidity, tension, freshness, and a profound mineral personality.
Tasting Notes
A subtle, light-hued, brilliant, and elegant wine. On the nose, it is fresh and delicate, highlighting red fruits—such as wild raspberry, tart cherry, and pomegranate—complemented by notes of dried violet, wild scrubland, and mild spices, with a subtle balsamic undertone and barely perceptible oak. On the palate, it is silky and ethereal, possessing a fine structure and an acidity that sustains a long, mineral, and persistent finish, where freshness and elegance take precedence over power.
